Door Lion for Christmas - William Furniss Photography

Door Lion for Christmas

This is an archival pigment print face-mounted to acrylic in a 4mm wide 30mm deep white maple wood frame. Limited edition, signed and numbered on the back of the face-mounted panel.

Edwin H. Land's invention of Polaroid photograph in 1947 led to many wonderful materials for photographers to work with. For me the greatest was the Polaroid Type 55 which gives you the most beautiful negative as part of the process. It is an incredibly rare film now and in the world there can only be a few useable sheets remaining. I have just one box left and to use a sheet requires a very special subject.

This is one of the iconic door lions on guard outside the Old Bank of China.
