Freedom Tower - William Furniss Photography

Freedom Tower

Cities are founded on their relationship with water. It is the essential element of every city worldwide. Whilst it creates it is also an agent of entropy. This is the theme I look to capture in these fleeting moments of beauty and danger as a city is reflected in the water around it. This is an image of the surface of the Hudson River looking downtown, towards the Freedom Tower.

There is no photoshop trickery here, just straight photographs taken with my large format camera and very long, telephoto lenses. Often I shoot at night when colour and contrast is at its most extreme. The rhythms of wind, tide and weather also have their say.

This is a beautiful archival print front mounted to acrylic with dibond backboard and aluminium hanging system. Limited edition, signed and numbered on the back. Printing and mounting are conducted as close as possible to the purchaser's location to minimise environmental impacts.
