Phones, Times Square for Christmas - William Furniss Photography

Phones, Times Square for Christmas

This is an archival pigment print face-mounted to acrylic in a 4mm wide 30mm deep black wood frame. Limited edition, signed and numbered on the back of the face-mounted panel.

The iconic means of communication, a lifeline, the beginning of many adventures, a source of hope, salvation, fury, frustration, and every other emotion imaginable, the public payphone.

This set of phones used to reside on the corner of 43rd and Broadway in the midst of Times Square. This photograph was taken in 2002. The red lights reflected in the back panel are from neon signs. Now long gone.
